The AQA exam has two papers:
Paper 1 topics are: Energy, Electricity, Particle model of matter, Atomic structure
Paper 2 topics are: Forces, Waves, Magnetism
& electromagnetism, Space physics.
The types of questions asked in
AQA GCSE Physics are multiple choice, structured, closed short answer and open
response. The Scheme of exam is as follows: Written exam for each paper; 1 hour 45 minutes; Foundation and Higher Tier; 100 marks per paper; each paper is weighed at 50%
of GCSE Physics.
The tutoring for AQA physics is
designed as per the board’s specifications. We focus on three important
components: Concepts – Exam Keywords – Exam papers
Questions
Our tutors teach the core
concepts that include relevant formulae in considerable detail. The students
are required to take notes of the contents. Once the concepts are done, the
tutors then proceed towards teaching the relevant Exam Keywords on that
concept.
At Gore’s, we emphasize on exam oriented preparation. The Keywords
teaching technique is integral part of our classes. Every exam board has marks
the answers based on relevant keywords and hence the tutoring is specifically
focused on training students how to write and include keywords in a structured
manner.
Once the concept and Keywords are
drilled, the tutors then move to the Exam paper questions. The exam paper
questions (and similar questions), re-enforce already learned topics and make
students “Exam Ready”
At Gore’s, we offer small group lessons. Every group has
students who are of similar abilities and doing the similar topics. The classes
have a Physics teacher in the classroom in Dubai along with an Online (Live in
person) tutor working side by side from our GCSE Academy in India.
This ensures that every student
gets proper attention even though the classes are in small groups. The student
is able to learn concepts that involve graphical utilities as well as
simulations with the help of our online teacher who is interacting with the
student on a one to one basis.
After each lesson, the student is
assigned homework on our dedicated homework portal. The parents have access to
this portal and thus can keep a check on the learning / tutoring plan. Our
regular students get access to hundreds of books, exam papers, assignments and
tests developed by our team of tutors led by Mr. Vikram.
Students at Gore’s also have to
appear for mock exams once topics are covered and thoroughly revised.
