Small
Group Lessons (REGULAR)
Gore’s small group tutoring is one of the most effective
tutoring schemes for GCSE – IGCSE Math (9-1) pattern for the Edexcel / Aqa /
CIE boards. A typical small group class has 3-5 students who are grouped as per
their abilities.

Before a batch is finalized, Mr. Vikram and his team will assess the student. Based on the assessment, the academic level (deficient
areas, strengths etc) is ascertained. The test generally takes anywhere between
20 minutes to 1 hour. There is no score or grade provided. The test is for
internal evaluation purposes only.
We would also require parents to provide us with school
reports, portion papers (topics that are covered in the school), any past exam/
answer papers (if any), additional remarks made by schoolteacher or his math
tutor.
About the “Gore’s Tutoring
Method”
The GCSE – IGCSE Math lessons are taught by Mr. Vikram
and his team at Gore's
Mr. Vikram has been tutoring Math and Physics for past 20 years in Dubai. His tutoring is mainly focused towards the UK and IB
curriculum.
At Gore’s, the lesson plans, concept teaching, practice
questions, assignments and tests are all prepared by Mr. Vikram and his team at Gore's.
The teaching is strictly monitored by them. The center has trained assistants
who support them throughout the lessons.
We DO NOT believe that Teaching / Tutoring can be FRANCHISED! It is
not food business! Gore’s is owned, operated and managed by professional
teachers based in Dubai. You can personally meet the real owners who are
tutors and not managers who merely read out a “franchised” script!

Gore’s Tutoring emphasizes on EXAM ORIENTED TEACHING. We
focus our energies towards teaching exam paper style questions / concepts. Past
exam paper questions and similar type of questions are practiced in every
lesson.
Parents feel that group lessons are NOT
EFFECTIVE: True.. but not exactly!
Mr. Vikram has developed the expertise of teaching in
small groups over the last 20 years. The student gets the feel of one-to-one
tutoring even though he/she is in a group.
This is done by the task splitting technique.
Ideally, an experienced teacher takes 10 minutes to explain one concept.
Once the concept is explained / taught, a worksheet that
contains large number of questions on that concept are given to the student. We
have a large repository of questions developed over 16 years!
As the student does the practice, another trained teacher
keeps watch on the working and provides assistance or explanation as the
student solves. Hence, at any given point of time there is always a teacher
available for every student in the group!
The main teacher would then be teaching another student
the concept while rest of the group does the worksheet questions.
There are instances when a student needs explanation more
than two times. This is provided as we work in rotation.
We also have a GCSE Academy in India where trained tutors
are available Online on our dedicated interactive portal to provide One to One
explanation while a group class is going on at our Dubai center!

Private / Home Tutors charge 4 to 5 times per hour for a concept!
A home tutor would always
charge more as he /she has to account for transport charges, traffic delays,
parking etc . On an average, a private / home tutor stretches the explanation
time for a single concept to 45 minutes so that an hour is covered!

HOMEWORK / ASSIGNMENTS (for
Regular Students)
Tutoring is not complete without Homework! We have a dedicated
homework portal where the customized homework is uploaded as required after
the class is done. The parents will have access to this portal and can
therefore monitor the homework regularly.
NOTE: Homework is assigned after the lesson. Hence, the
topic that student needs to practice is allotted by the teacher unlike other
Math websites that assign standard worksheets!
MOCK EXAMINATIONS
Students are given Exam papers to solve after they
complete a unit. These papers are marked. Based on the performance, the
teachers take remedial action.
