The IB Math HL Analysis
course has five key areas of mathematics namely: Numbers & Algebra,
Functions, Geometry & Trigonometry, Statistics & Probability, and
Calculus.
The course aims to enable
students to recall and apply mathematical concepts, techniques to real and
abstract world and solve problems. Accurate communication of mathematical ideas
to solve problems and extensive use of technology are also incorporated in this
new specification. Students have to investigate unfamiliar situations, make
conjectures, test and validate these and also construct mathematical arguments.
The course has three
papers that include one non-calculator paper. The students also have to
complete Internal Assessment (IA) through a written mathematical exploration.
The written papers have a weightage of 80% (three papers) + 20%
for Internal Assessment (IA).
At Gore's Tutoring Dubai,
the IB Math Analysis (HL / SL) classes are offered in three stages: Concepts,
Practice and Assessment. We also guide
students in their Internal Assessments (IA).
The students also get hands on training on use of technology (Graphic
Calculators).
The classes are in small
groups led by Mr. Vikram and his team of tutors based in Dubai. Mr. Vikram has
planned to cover Numbers-Algebra and Functions topics during the summer course
for the IB students in Dubai. Each sub-topic within the Numbers-Algebra as well
as Functions has hundreds of practice questions that have been designed to give
ample practice to students. We have also added a lot of Non-calculator
questions as a part of this tutoring course.
